Photo's..

This is the image I was originally going to use for the front cover. I changed my mind and picked a different photo as the cover star is not looking at the camera, which is what most cover stars do, as I've noticed in other real magazines. Also the picture quality is not very good as it was taken at a gig on a poor quality camera.

This is the photo I took for the double page spread interview. Using photo shop I edited out the background of trees as I didn't think it was necessary or appropriate for my magazine. I also used the feathering effect as The edges of the picture were very pixalated when the image was blown up.

Final plan..

This is my final plan and the idea that I used for my actual production. I decided to change the cover star in order to use a better photo with higher resolution. I also incorporated more puffs and subheadings  after looking at real magazines again in order to make mine more realistic.

Second plan..

This is my second plan. I changed the name of my magazine to 'Alternate' as it fit more with the Indie style of my magazine. 'Bassline' sounded more like a drum and bass magazine which would have been misleading. I came up with 'Alternate' because Indie music/style is also referred to as being alternative, so I shortened it down to 'Alternate'.

Planning..

This is the initial plan for my music magazine. I drew up this rough plan before starting on using InDesign
to ensure I had a plan of action instead of just making things up as I went along.

Survey Results..

Here are the results from my survey researching what people look for in a music magazine. The survey was originally sent out to 12 people; an equal ratio of male and female all between 12 and 42 years of age. 8 of the recipients filled out the survey and sent it back to me by the deadline. Here are the results from those 8 people. I chose to display my results in individual pie charts as these charts are visual, clear and easy to read.
